General

Yes, you can. Copy the DRE Docs folder containing Config.json, Cache folder, etc.

The default location is %LocalAppData%/DRE/Docs (paste this into a Windows Explorer address field)

After fresh installing DRE on your new PC, exit DRE, paste the copied docs into the new docs folder, and restart DRE.

Yes you may!

In fact, I endorse it and would love to see screenshots, videos of it.

Please see the details here

It is possible to use both keyboard and controller combinations when binding controls in DRE.

DRE triggers are separate from the simulator output. For supported iRacing actions, you can use a controller button with the DRE keyboard trigger left empty. Other simulator actions may still require a DRE keyboard trigger; it does not need to match the simulator binding.

Actions DRE sends as keypresses still need a supported keyboard assignment in the simulator. See How do I map controls? for setup details.

JoyToKey is optional, not a prerequisite for DRE’s built-in controller binding.

If you need more options, check out a third-party solution that converts controller button pushes into keyboard pushes like JoyToKey

No. DRE has moved to a secure authentication system (OAuth2) that does not require your iRacing email and password. When you connect, a browser window will open for you to log in directly through the iRacing website.

This method supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and ensures your credentials are never stored by DRE locally or in the cloud. This connection is used solely to validate your account and fetch session data like weather and upcoming race schedules. Learn more about how DRE handles iRacing authentication here

Not at the moment. DRE is Windows-only today. While LMU may work reasonably well on Linux for some users, DRE depends heavily on Windows-specific technologies, so a Linux version would be a major engineering project rather than a simple port. It is not currently available, and there is no near-term Linux support commitment, but the interest is appreciated and noted.

To help improve and develop DRE, the app would like to collect and analyze your voice and text inputs. Here’s what this means for you:

For Free users

To support the free version of DRE, the app will securely collect and review your voice and chat text inputs. This allows to:

  • Improve the accuracy and performance of the app services.
  • Develop new features and technologies.

Your data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Please be aware that you should not share any sensitive personal information in your voice or text inputs.

For Free users in the EEA, Great Britain, or Switzerland, the app is not collecting any input data.

For Paid users

As a paid user (Essentials subscription or higher), you have more control over your data.

You can choose whether to share your voice and text inputs to help improve the DRE services.

  • Yes, I want to help improve DRE: Enable this to consent to the collection and analysis of my voice and text inputs to enhance the app and develop new features.
  • No, do not use my data for product improvement. Disable this option to disallow sharing voice and text inputs.

Your decision will not affect your access to any features.
You can change this setting at any time in Settings → General → Data.

By default, DRE automatically switches to the units used in the simulator.

It’s possible to override the units used by adjusting `Settings -> General -> Units`

If DRE prompts you about not having the elevated privileges to affect the sim, you have two options:

  1. Elevate DRE to administrator mode to match the sim elevation
  2. Lower the sim elevation to not run in administrator mode

Elevate DRE to Administrator mode

You’ll need to adjust its properties to ensure that DRE always runs with elevated privileges.

Make sure DRE has properly exited before going ahead.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Locate DRE Shortcut or Executable:
    • Navigate to the desktop or the folder where the DRE shortcut or executable file (.exe) is located.
  2. Right-click on the Icon
    • Right-click the DRE icon (the shortcut or the actual .exe file).
  3. Access Properties
    • From the context menu that appears, select Properties.
  4. Switch to the ‘Compatibility’ Tab
    • In the DRE Properties window, click on the Compatibility tab.
  5. Run as Administrator
    • Under the Settings section, you will see an option labeled Run this program as an administrator. Check this box.
  6. Apply Changes
    • Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
  7. Close the Properties Window
    • Click on the OK button to close the properties window.
  8. Launch DRE
    • The next time you open DRE using this shortcut or executable, it will request to run with elevated privileges. If User Account Control (UAC) prompts you for permission, choose Yes to allow DRE to run as an administrator.

Lower the sim’s elevation from Administrator mode

In case you do not wish to run DRE with elevated privileges, you can lower the sim’s elevation level to standard user mode to resolve the elevation mismatch. This way, both DRE and the sim will operate without administrative privileges.

Ensure no other applications require the sim to run in administrator mode.

Ensure you have properly closed the sim before proceeding with the steps below.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Locate Sim Shortcut or Executable
Navigate to the desktop or the folder where the sim shortcut or executable file (.exe) is located.
  2. Right-click on the Icon
Right-click the sim icon (the shortcut on desktop – e.g. “iRacing UI“, or the actual .exe file).
  3. Access Properties
From the context menu that appears, select Properties.
  4. Switch to the ‘Compatibility’ Tab
In the sim Properties window, click on the Compatibility tab.
  5. Disable Run as Administrator
Under the Settings section, you will see an option labeled Run this program as an administrator. Uncheck this box.
  6. Apply Changes
Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
  7. Close the Properties Window
Click on the OK button to close the properties window.
  8. Launch the Sim
The next time you open the sim using this shortcut or executable, it will not request to run with elevated privileges and will run as a standard user. If User Account Control (UAC) prompts you for permission, choose No to run the sim without administrator privileges.

To uninstall DRE, run the DRE Uninstaller:

  • Open Windows Start menu
  • Search by typing Remove Program
  • Open the Installed Apps
  • Search the list for DRE
  • Click the DRE version xxxx.x.x.x

This is usually enough.

If anything failed during uninstall, to manually and fully uninstall and clean your PC from DRE content, delete the locations:

  • %LocalAppData%/DRE (paste this into an Explorer window address bar)
  • The install location you’ve chosen (defaults to C:\Program Files\DRE)
  • Only if you’ve changed the DRE documents and cache folder:
    • Open Registry Editor
    • Paste Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimFonX\DRE into the address bar
    • Copy the DocPath value and paste that into an Explorer window address bar
    • Delete this DRE documents folder

DRE utilizes a secure, browser-based OAuth2 flow with PKCE to authenticate with iRacing.

Does DRE store my password?

No. All local storage of credentials has been removed. DRE does not store your password locally or in the cloud.

How it works

  1. Browser Flow: DRE opens your default browser to the iRacing login page.
  2. Authentication: You enter your credentials (and 2FA if active) directly on the iRacing site.
  3. Token Exchange: iRacing passes a secure token back to DRE to authorize the connection.

Usage

This token allows DRE to validate your license and retrieve API data such as weather forecasts and “Next Race” information. You can manage this connection in Settings -> Sim Connection.

Regular running of DRE should not impact your system as monitored CPU usage and footprint is only about 1-8%. Loading DRE and when loading into a session increase the footprint shortly. Memory usage should maintain a steady level between 200 and 800MB over the session depending on the number of drivers and alerts enabled.

Signals are non-verbal sounds, which in different situations become handy and a better approach than a spoken message.

Think of them as beeps but containing rich information.

Especially in rapid situations, non-verbal sounds are preferred to spoken alerts, like in overtaking situations. While simple spoken alerts like “Car left” takes about 0.5 seconds, using the Overtake Signal is instant. It immediately informs you of the overtake happening in 3D to your side and its progression.

New Signals are added over time. Some of the current ones include:

  • Overtake: Hear overtakes with a 3D sonar
  • Pit Speed Approach: Brake optimally and hit the pit speed
  • Delta Wave: Improve your racing performance by listening to time lost and gained compared to yourself or opponents

Shrink Button

The Shrink window toggle allows the DRE window to simplify into a smaller, more compact window. Use the DRE window as an overlay on top of your simulators using Settings -> Window -> Always on top.

You can shrink DRE’s window even further, showing only the voice input and out bars:

Shrink to Input/Output only

Neural Words Limits have been removed with DRE 2026.1. There are no more limits to Neural speech generation 🙌

Neural Words was a count of the words generated in the cloud to produce what DRE was saying. 1 word in a speech text = 1 Neural Word.

Whenever DRE needed to construct a new sentence with parts you didn’t already have cached locally, it asked the cloud to do so.

Neural Words are no longer limited.

Auto Fuel triggers in certain scenarios, depending on your settings:

Auto Fuel engages when:

  • It’s not overridden by you
    • as in adjusted the fuel black box yourself, or command DRE set fuel to x.
    • You can “undo” the override by calling Fuel to the end or similar
  • There’s fuel to add (total fill remaining is more than 0 liters)
  • The scenario matches your Fuel -> Auto Fuel -> Auto Fuel Scenarios settings (on track, entering pits, or both)

For on-track scenarios:

  • Not in pits already
  • Completed at least one stint lap
  • Driven more than 5 km in the session
  • More than half a lap completed
  • More than 1 lap left in session
  • Fuel is low (0.1 to 10 laps left) or in fuel window with 20 or fewer laps of fuel left

For entering pits:

  • When entering the pit entry or currently being towed

Note also that: Auto Fuel won’t engage if it’s recently checked (10-second cooldown).

Both metric and imperial units are supported by DRE.

DRE will automatically switch to the units used in the simulator.

It’s possible to override the units used by adjusting `Settings -> General -> Units`

After using Neural Speech Recognition in DRE, you might experience seeing the its GPU utilization in Task Manager becoming stuck and not moving back down to 0%.

Task Manager GPU usage stuck

Fear not! DRE isn’t using the GPU, even if appearing to — it’s stuck. Try monitor the real GPU usage with Gpu-Z, HWInfo, MSI Afterburner or nvidia-smi

This is a bad trait of Task Manager and can simply be ignored.

Versions

You can run the Free version as long as you like, but the Free version comes with some limitations compared to the subscription upgrades.

You can see which features are supported in all versions on Pricing

If you find yourself in need of downgrading your DRE version from the current, note this can only be done in the same “major” version like 2025.1.2 -> 2025.1.1.

Also, there may be a minimum version imposed, so it’s not possible to downgrade to too old versions.

To downgrade:

  1. Open DRE
  2. Go to Settings -> Updates
  3. Check if it’s possible to downgrade from here. Look for this

Rollback Version

Alternatively:

  1. Open DRE
  2. Disable automatic updates from Settings -> Updates
  3. Close DRE
  4. Download the downgraded version from this URL format below and install it.
    1. https://www.thedigitalraceengineer.com/dl/VERSIONTODOWNLOAD
    2. For example https://www.thedigitalraceengineer.com/dl/2025.1.18
    3. Copy and paste this into a new browser tab address field and hit enter
  5. Enjoy the older version

To uninstall DRE, run the DRE Uninstaller:

  • Open Windows Start menu
  • Search by typing Remove Program
  • Open the Installed Apps
  • Search the list for DRE
  • Click the DRE version xxxx.x.x.x

This is usually enough.

If anything failed during uninstall, to manually and fully uninstall and clean your PC from DRE content, delete the locations:

  • %LocalAppData%/DRE (paste this into an Explorer window address bar)
  • The install location you’ve chosen (defaults to C:\Program Files\DRE)
  • Only if you’ve changed the DRE documents and cache folder:
    • Open Registry Editor
    • Paste Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimFonX\DRE into the address bar
    • Copy the DocPath value and paste that into an Explorer window address bar
    • Delete this DRE documents folder
    • Feel free to delete the Registry Editor DRE folder as well

It’s simple to update DRE from a previous version, just follow the guide here

To enable beta version updates in DRE, see this guide

iRacing

If you can’t get the Damage and Weather report commands to work here are two potential fixes, depending on the in-sim spotter state:

I have the in-sim spotter disabled

Unfortunately, the commands do not work unless the iRacing spotter is enabled. DRE relays a key combo to trigger the in-sim spotter to deliver the damage/weather reports. Without the spotter enabled, it won’t tell you the report.

Fix: Enabled the in-sim spotter. Setting the iRacing spotter verbosity to Low mitigates most chatter from it.

The in-sim spotter is enabled

DRE reads the report key assignments from your saved iRacing controls profile. Your DRE trigger keys do not need to match them.

  1. In iRacing, give Damage Report and Weather Report supported keyboard assignments. These reports need keyboard output; a controller-only assignment in iRacing cannot be emulated by DRE.
  2. Save the controls using Save or Apply & Close.
  3. With DRE connected, open Controls → Sim and search for report.
  4. Check the read-only iRacing Binding values on the right and the smaller Profile: name label beneath the header.

You do not need to copy the report keys into DRE’s trigger fields. For these supported iRacing actions, you can use a DRE controller trigger with its keyboard trigger left empty.

If the profile label or binding has not updated, save the intended profile in iRacing and check again. Selecting a profile without a detected save is not a guaranteed update.

If DRE shows Unassigned, Controller only, Unsupported or Error, follow its explanation and resolve the assignment or profile-reading issue. DRE sends no guessed replacement key. Not every keyboard key is supported.

If you trigger the report with a built-in DRE keyboard shortcut, keep iRacing in the foreground. Voice and controller routes keep their existing focus behavior.

See How do I map controls? for profile setup and binding troubleshooting.

Using DRE, it is recommended to set Max Cars to 63 in iRacing.

Otherwise, live positions and some timing info may be distorted and false due to connection drop-outs. This is a limitation by iRacing unfortunately as we cannot expect iRacing to stream all 63 cars constantly even with Max Cars = 63.

To change Max Cars in iRacing:

  1. Start an iRacing session
  2. Open iRacing Options
  3. Click on Graphics
  4. Locate Max Cars
  5. Set it to 63
  6. The change might require a session restart to take effect

Change Max Cars via ini files:

  1. Make sure iRacing and the UI is closed
  2. Open your user’s documents folder
  3. Enter the iRacing folder at C:\Users\[USER]\Documents\iRacing
  4. Open the App.ini
  5. Search for serverTransmitMaxCars
  6. Change this to 63
  7. Save and close the ini file

Here’s how to stop iRacing from sharing your car setup with the live telemetry.

Note! DRE does not parse or use your car setups in any form, except the following values:

FuelLevel: This value is used to determine your fuel level before entering the car, allowing DRE to alert you if fuel level before a race is too low to complete the race.

TireType: This value is used to determine your tire selection before entering the car, allowing DRE to alert you if tires and track wetness do not match.

To disable sharing car setup through iRacing’s live telemetry:

    1. Locate your Documents/iRacing/app.ini file and open it with a text editor like Notepad
    2. Find the line irsdkLogSetup=1 ; Log the current setup to telemetry
    3. Change the 1 to a 0
    4. Save the file and restart iRacing

Here’s how to stop DRE from sharing your racing data, like tire and fuel, pit stop times, and more.

Note! When enabled, DRE sends racing data such as fuel and tire data to the database. Here it gets averaged into existing data. This data benefits all DRE drivers as a data foundation for fuel, tire calculations, etc. Disable this if you do not want to share your data. You will still benefit from the data shared by others.

To disable this functionality:

  1. In DRE go to the side menu
  2. Open Settings -> Sim-Connection
  3. Disable the toggle for Share Racing Data

If you want to optimize when to shift gears, check out the Actual Shifting RPMs in DRE -> Car -> Gear.

Actual shifting points are accumulated over time by a rolling 5% average. Use these RPMs shift points as references when you adjust the point to hear gear shift signal.

Actual gear shift RPMs measured
You can set up SimHub Control Mapper how you want then use its internal Keyboard Emulator to play nice alongside DRE.

SimHub Control Mapper diagram

SimHub’s Keyboard Emulator and DRE send inputs to the simulator through separate routes. The setup below uses iRacing as an example.

In the sim

In iRacing, open Settings → Keybinds → In Car → Cockpit and assign Enter/Exit/Tow Car to Shift+R for this example. Save the intended controls profile using Save or Apply & Close.

scm iRacing ctrl

DRE

With DRE connected to iRacing, open Controls → Sim and find Enter/Exit/Tow Car.

Check that the read-only iRacing Binding column on the right shows the saved Shift+R assignment. Check the smaller Profile: name label beneath the header too.

You do not need to copy Shift+R into DRE’s trigger field. A DRE keyboard trigger or controller trigger is optional for this action. Add one only if you want that input to trigger the action through DRE. A controller trigger can have its DRE keyboard trigger left empty.

DRE still needs a supported keyboard output assignment in iRacing for this action; it cannot emulate an iRacing controller-only assignment. If the profile label or output is not what you expect, save the intended iRacing profile again and check DRE. Selecting without a detected save is not a guaranteed refresh.

If DRE shows an unassigned, controller-only, unsupported or error state, resolve the issue it explains. DRE sends no guessed replacement key. See How do I map controls? for details.

SimHub

  1. Output Mapping -> Assign Roles: Add Enter/Exit/Tow Car as a new button
    1. scm ctrl1 buttons enter exit tow car
  2. Map the Enter/Exit/Tow Car to your wheel buttons
    1. scm xbox buttons role
  3. Go to Controls and events -> Keyboard Emulation and click Add mapping
  4. scm add mappingUnder Input, click Click to configure and Simulate press the role: Enter/Exit/Tow Car (You can use the SimHub smartphone website to trigger it). Press Save.
  5. On the right at Simulated Keys, press the field Click to assign and press Shift+R

scm simulated keys

SimHub’s simulated keys must match the keyboard assignment in iRacing. In this example, SimHub sends Shift+R directly to iRacing. If you change that assignment in iRacing, update the SimHub Keyboard Emulation mapping too.

DRE reads its output separately from the saved iRacing controls profile. Its trigger does not need to match Shift+R, and DRE does not configure SimHub for you.

Here’s the mapping between iRacing and DRE track wetness states:

Track Wetness State Comparison
DRE StateiRacing State
UnknownUNKNOWN
DryDry
SlightlyDampMostlyDry
DampVeryLightlyWet
SlightlyWetLightlyWet
WetModeratelyWet
VeryWetVeryWet
FloodedExtremelyWet

DRE’s naming system improves on iRacing by:

  • Using fewer terms with “wet” in the name
  • Creating more clearly distinct categories
  • If possible, set Connection Type to DSL, Cable, Fiber 1 Mbit/sec or faster. This may influence the data transmitted between cars and therefore the precision of The DRE.
  • Units are automatically changed to the units used in iRacing
  • DRE does not work fully during ghost races and spectator modes.

For DRE to function in Windows 7, Windows Aero Glass Theme must be enabled.

Change Aero via Control Panel

  1. Start > Control Panel
  2. In the Appearance and Personalization section, click “Change the theme”
  3. Chose to enable Aero, select any theme under “Aero Themes”

Change Aero setting using its Windows service

Advanced users can start or stop the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service. To do this, use the Services manager snap-in console (services.msc) or use an administrative command prompt. For the command prompt, use net stop uxsms to disable, and net start uxsms to enable Aero again.

Note: The in-sim black box relative box shows your result position at the last S/F crossing, which is not real-time. DRE shows the position in real-time.

DRE’s position updates, like “you are position 29, 30, 29,” often stem from connection issues between your PC <-> iRacing <-> Opponents, causing ‘blinking’ or momentary losses in data transmission.

To improve accuracy, try:

  • Set your Connection Type to DSL, Cable, Fiber (1 Mbit/sec or faster) at iRacing Settings. This can enhance data precision between cars.
  • Set Max Cars to 63 in iRacing Options

When Auto Fuel is enabled both in iRacing and DRE it likely leads to confusing fuel calculations.

Both the sim and DRE will attempt to adjust the fuel based on their individual fuel calculations.

You have 3 options:

1: Keep both iRacing and DRE Auto Fuel enabled as-is.

If DRE senses you or iRacing alters the fuel in the black box, it will acknowledge the fuel override and stay off the fuel calculations until the next stop has been completed.

2: Turn off Auto Fuel in iRacing

Here’s how to disable auto-fueling in iRacing:

  1. Close iRacing and DRE
  2. Go to Documents/iRacing/ and open App.ini
  3. Search for the line ‘autoFuelDefaultEnable’ and change the value from ‘1’ to ‘0’
  4. Save the App.ini file and close it
  5. Restart iRacing and DRE

3: Turn off Auto Fuel in DRE

To disable auto-fueling in DRE do this:

  1. Open DRE
  2. Go to Fuel -> Auto Fuel
  3. Uncheck all toggles in the Auto Fuel setting

iRacing uses OAuth for accessing its Data API.

To maintain DRE functionality (hearing split info, knowing when the next race start, etc.), it’s possible to enable legacy authentication, until OAuth becomes available for clients like DRE:

  1. Enable Legacy Authentication in your iRacing account settings
  2. Go to https://oauth.iracing.com/accountmanagement
  3. Click on Security in the left side-menu
  4. Under Legacy Authentication click the Enable Legacy Authentication
  5. Hit Enable at the ‘Enable Legacy Auth?’ popup
  6. (Re)start DRE

Note!

  • DRE will notify of needing to enable this, if it discovers any feature enabled requires iRacing Data API access
DRE is first in line to get access to the new iRacing OAuth 2.0 compatible service for authentication and authorization, so I’m awaiting invite to this to be able to implement it

See all Admin commands for iRacing here

This means your throttle is slightly above 0% at all times, or never reaches 100%, and should be recalibrated.
If you don’t recalibrate your pedals, you’re probably not as fast on straights as possible and may have a different, and sub-optimal, braking before corners.

You can also choose to ignore the alert:

  1. In DRE, at the top search bar type pedal
  2. Click on Pedals Hang
  3. Switch the setting from Enabled to Disabled

The same applies to “You brake pedal is not calibrated”, while it here means, your brake pedal input is always above 0%, meaning the car is dragging while accelerating.

Issues

Normal CPU usage with DRE is around 0 – 8% depending on a couple of factors:

  • The number of speech grammar loaded
  • The number of drivers connected to the sim session
  • The number of alerts and features enabled

To decrease the CPU usage try the following:

  • Use Push-To-Talk to only process mic input when absolute necessary
  • Uncheck unused dynamic grammar types in Sound -> Recognition
  • Disable features you’re not using
  • Decrease the number of controllers used to trigger actions via DRE. If you can, bring all pushes onto one controller, so DRE uses fewer resources on polling more controllers

You need to say your sentence immediately after the command. So if you want to write “sorry” in the chat, you need to say “Start writing sorry”, without any pauses.

This goes for all your unrecognized commands.

Since DRE cannot compare your sentence with any existing command it already knows, it relies on Microsoft Speech Recognition services which is less than optimal. This may be why it often misinterprets your input for these types of commands.

It’s recommended to add your own commands in case you often write certain sentences.

If DRE detects Le Mans Ultimate (LMU) as running but does not connect or receive session data, do the following:

  1. Start LMU
  2. Open General Settings in LMU
  3. Scroll to the bottom
  4. Make sure Enable Plugins is set to ON.
  5. Fully restart LMU and join the track.

DRE uses a LMU plugin to receive live session data, so it cannot connect while LMU plugins are disabled.

See the Speech Recognition Guide on how to make DRE understand you and execute your commands

  • Check the system tray if the DRE icon is there.
    • If it is, click on it and DRE should open

ZViGlDM

  • Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Escape) and look for DRE.exe
    • If it’s showing, right-click it and click End Task

laCYcMN

  • Try opening DRE again
  • If it still fails, try re-installing DRE from Download

If you still have issues, reach out via Discord

If the speech recognition doesn’t catch a specific phrase or word, you can optimize it for these exact words or sentences:

  1. Go to Start and search for Start Speech Recognition.
  2. Right-click on the Speech bar on top of your window and click on Open Speech Dictionary.
  3. Here you can prevent a word from being detected or add a new word to optimize understanding.
  4. Eg. if it has a hard time understanding the word ‘garage’, you can add this as a new word by checking on Record a pronunciation upon Finish.
  5. Be sure to turn on listening in the Speech bar before pressing Record.

See also the Speech Recognition Guide on how to make DRE better understand you and execute your commands

Make sure to inspect the DRE log window output. It should tell you if something is wrong with the DRE setup.

Right-click the log and choose Show verbose logging

If you still have issues, reach out via Discord

Try the following steps to minimize “false positives” where the speech recognition picks up noise as speech in your environment

  1. Turn down the volume/gain of your microphone in the Windows Sound settingsMicrophone Level
  2. Try enabling the “Mute listening when busy” toggle in DRE in order to deafen DRE whenever you are braking in the sim. This can easily remove some false positives
  3. You can train your computer to understand you better. Go to Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Speech Recognition. Click on Train your computer to better understand you. This will make it know how you sound and will be able to better distinguish your voice from noise from eg. steering wheel or other people nearby. Do this training at least twice! Also over time, the recognition gets better as it learns as you talk to it.
  4. Whenever DRE mistake noise or something you said wasn’t the correct command you wanted, reply to DRE what it wrote in the Log. Eg. if recognition picks up the “iRating” command from the noise in your room, say “iRating” back to DRE a couple of times. The reason is, that Windows Speech Recognition supposably can learn as you go. By learning how it is actually pronounced by you it can better differentiate in the future
  5. Try playing around with the DRE settings for Recognition.
    1. In DRE go to Sound -> Recognition
    2. At the bottom, see the Speech Recognition graph
    3. Overall, the speech you actually say should fall inside the green area, while the noise should be outside. If it isn’t adjustments are needed to the sliders above.
    4. See the Legend below the graph for more info
  6. Disable the command being recognized
    1. Disable False Positive Command
    2. Head to Voice Commands from the DRE side menu
    3. Search for the voice command being falsely triggered
    4. Locate the command and right-click
    5. Click Disable
    6. Speech recognition will now be turned off for this specific voice command, so neither noise or voice can trigger it

Finally, see the Speech Recognition Guide to make sure you’re set for optimal recognition.

If DRE underfuels you and you have to make a short splash towards the end of the race, here are some common things to try:

  • Set Fuel -> General -> Fuel Average Mode to Top Burn % to take the highest fuel usages across your laps
  • Set Fuel -> General -> Percentage of laps down to 15 – 25% to take only the worst of the worst
  • Set Fuel -> Fueling -> Fuel Buffer Laps to 210% or more
  • Lower Fuel -> Auto Fuel -> Auto Fuel Hysteresis down to ~0.48L to ensure any fluctuations from Auto Fuel calculations trigger new Auto Fuel applications
  • Lower Performance -> Lap -> Average Lap Time Laps to 4 – 6 laps to be more responsive to changes in lap times, so that quicker pace throughout a race is more quickly captured by DRE

It’s likely that your Anti-Virus flagged one or more of the installer files and is now showing this error popup. Please un-install DRE and reinstall it to see if that helps.

Normal GPU usage with DRE is around 0 – 3% depending on a couple of factors:

  • The number of UI changes (log entries added, mic input, audio output meters, etc.)
  • App window size
  • Current page viewed

To decrease the GPU usage try the following:

  • Switch away from the Log page to eg. Account
  • Decrease the app window size. Try the Shrink mode, by clicking its button next to minimize

Shrink icon
  • Use Push-To-Talk to only animate mic input level meter when absolute necessary
  • Minimize the app window (to tray) to avoid rendering the app at all (note to voice command DRE make sure you read up on Input Mode -> Allow Input
  • If you still have issues with high GPU, try entering the following into the global search: /disable level. This stops the input and output level meters from animating their circles and may save a bit extra

If you’re ever in need of finding the DRE logs generated, you can find it this way:

  1. Open a Windows Explorer window (use Winkey + E if in doubt)
  2. Paste this into its address bar: %LocalAppData%/DRE/Backup/Logs
  3. Locate the file named with the date of the log you need, like Jan 11, 2023
    1. Log20230111.txt

See this guide on how to send in bug data

If you find yourself in need of downgrading your DRE version from the current, note this can only be done in the same “major” version like 2025.1.2 -> 2025.1.1.

Also, there may be a minimum version imposed, so it’s not possible to downgrade to too old versions.

To downgrade:

  1. Open DRE
  2. Go to Settings -> Updates
  3. Check if it’s possible to downgrade from here. Look for this

Rollback Version

Alternatively:

  1. Open DRE
  2. Disable automatic updates from Settings -> Updates
  3. Close DRE
  4. Download the downgraded version from this URL format below and install it.
    1. https://www.thedigitalraceengineer.com/dl/VERSIONTODOWNLOAD
    2. For example https://www.thedigitalraceengineer.com/dl/2025.1.18
    3. Copy and paste this into a new browser tab address field and hit enter
  5. Enjoy the older version

If DRE never connects to Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), here are some tips to get going:

Ensure you’ve set up DRE and ACC correctly

First of all, see this FAQ how to set up DRE and ACC the right way.

Add exceptions in your Anti-Virus software

Some times, Anti-Virus applications will block port sharing, causing DRE to never reach the very much needed UDP connection.

The location of the DRE execution file can be found through DRE: Settings -> General -> Show installation folder -> DRE.exe

Allowing DRE Through Windows Defender Firewall

For many users, the built-in Windows Defender Firewall is the first line of defense. Here’s how you can allow DRE through:

1. Allow an app through the firewall:

  • Open Windows Security by searching for it in the Start menu.

  • Navigate to Firewall & network protection.

  • Click on “Allow an app through firewall”.

  • Click the “Change settings” button. You might be prompted for an administrator password.

  • Find DRE in the list. If it’s not there, click “Allow another app…” and browse to DRE’s installation folder to select the main executable file.

  • Once DRE is listed, ensure the checkbox next to it is ticked.

  • Also, tick the boxes for the network types your users will be on (usually Private).

  • Click OK to save the changes.

2. Create a specific rule for UDP port 9000:

If allowing the app doesn’t resolve the issue, creating a specific inbound rule for UDP port 9000 can help.

  • In the Firewall & network protection screen, click on “Advanced settings”.

  • In the new window, select “Inbound Rules” on the left.

  • On the right, click “New Rule…”.

  • Select “Port” and click Next.

  • Choose “UDP” and in “Specific local ports,” type 9000. Click Next.

  • Select “Allow the connection” and click Next.

  • Choose the network profiles where the rule should apply (e.g., Private). Click Next.

  • Give the rule a name (e.g., “DRE x ACC UDP”) and click Finish.

Configuring Third-Party Antivirus Software

Many users rely on third-party antivirus suites that come with their own firewalls. The process of adding an exception is similar across most of them.

For Avast Users:

  1. Open the Avast application and go to Protection > Firewall.

  2. Click on “Application Rules”.

  3. If DRE is not listed, you can add it manually.

  4. You can also create a new rule to allow traffic on UDP port 9000 if the option is available.

For AVG Users:

  1. Open AVG and go to Menu > Settings.

  2. Navigate to General > Exceptions and click “ADD EXCEPTION”.

  3. You can then browse for DRE’s executable file to add it to the exceptions list.

  4. Alternatively, for firewall-specific settings, go to the Firewall section and look for “Application rules” to allow DRE.

For McAfee Users:

  1. Open the McAfee Security Center and go to the “Firewall” section.

  2. Look for an option like “Internet Connections for Programs” or “Program Permissions”.

  3. Click “Add” or a similar button to browse for and select DRE’s executable file.

  4. Ensure the permission is set to “Allow” or “Full”.

  5. Some versions allow adding exceptions for specific ports under the “Ports and System Services” section.

For Norton Users:

  1. Open Norton 360 and go to Settings > Firewall.

  2. Select the “Program Control” tab.

  3. Click “Add” to browse for and add DRE to the list of allowed programs.

  4. You can also create a specific traffic rule by going to Advanced Settings > General Rules and adding a new rule to allow UDP traffic on port 9000.

Important Note: You should always ensure you trust an application before allowing it through the firewall. If you are unsure about any of these steps, it is recommended to consult the support documentation for the specific antivirus software.

System Tray

DRE might be minimized to system tray:

  1. Open the system tray additional icons
  2. Locate and click on the DRE icon

DRE in system tray

Outside screen bounds

To get the window back there are two options:

Alt Space M

  1. Make sure DRE is running and focused in the task bar
  2. Click ALT+SPACE then M
  3. If possible click the Move option
  4. Use the arrow keys to move it up/down left/right until you see it
  5. Hit Enter when finished

States.json

DRE keeps track of its window position and size. For some reason it may have moved outside your window area, so to move it back, do the following:

  1. Make sure DRE is not running (Open Task Manager if unsure, and check for DRE.exe)
  2. In Windows Explorer paste this into its address bar: %LocalAppData%/DRE/Docs
  3. Open the States.json file with a text editor (right-click -> Open with -> Choose eg. Notepad)
  4. Alter these values in the file to the following, and save the file afterwards:

“AppWidth”: 800.0,

“AppHeight”: 600.0,

“AppPosLeft”: 400.0,

“AppPosTop”: 400.0,

“AppWindowShrinked”: false,

“AppShrinkedPosLeft”: -1.0,

“AppShrinkedPosTop”: -1.0,

“AppWindowState”: 0,

The error message contains:

Too many grammars have been loaded. Number of grammars cannot exceed 1024

This is a limitation of Windows in terms of how many simultaneous voice grammars can exist. DRE spawns many grammars at load and even more as you join a session, and new drivers join.

This issue may be fixed down the line, as speech recognition partly moves towards cloud-based recognition

To fix this issue now, please do one of the following:

Method 1: Change to a single recognizer

  1. Locate the DRE Documents either by saying Open DRE Documents to DRE, or by finding it usually in C:\Documents\USER\DRE
  2. Exit DRE and make sure it is closed
  3. Open Config.json
  4. Edit the value of SpeechRecognizers (Ctrl+F to find it) from Multiple to Single
  5. Save the JSON file and re-open DRE

Method 2: Using Multiple Recognizers

  1. Open DRE
  2. Go to Sounds -> Recognition
  3. Disable one or more:
    1. Use Position Recognition
    2. Use Name Recognition
    3. Use Number Recognition

This will disable the grammar types like ‘Where’s Verstappen’, ‘Where’s car 33’, ‘Where is P2’, but reduces the number of voice grammars.

You are likely hearing one of the Signals

To understand which one, head to DRE -> Sound -> Signals to get an understanding, and try to disable the signals one-by-one until the Signal sound stops.

See which Signals are currently emitting sounds – 3 ways to get an overview:

  1. Hover the audio output level meter
    SignalPlayingInTooltip
  2. Go to Sound -> Output -> Signals
    SignalPlayingInSoundView
  3. Check each setting and spot the Power-on icon (green circle with vertical line)
    SignalPlaying

When you discover one you want to disable, use the search bar at the top to locate this Signal.

When opening DRE and you see this popup with

“Could not parse C:\Users\[Owner]\AppData\Local\DRE\Docs\States.json: App will now close.”

Please rectify this by doing the following:

  1. Make sure DRE has closed
    1. Check Task Manager with Ctrl+Alt+Delete
    2. Look for DRE.exe in the Processes tab
    3. Right-click it and End task
  2. Open a Windows Explorer window (use Windows key + E if unsure)
  3. Copy this: %LocalAppData%/DRE/Docs   (including the %’s)
  4. Paste into the address bar of the Windows Explorer window and hit enter
  5. LocalAppData path in Windows Explorer
  6. Find the corrupted file specified in the popup message (in this instance States.json)
  7. Delete the file by right-clicking -> Delete
  8. w0VWBot
  9. Now open DRE again and it should restore the file back to default

You may attempt to manually fix the file by opening it, fixing the issue and saving it. But if the content of the file is empty, you need to delete the file and restart DRE.

If you see something like this when installing DRE, this is a false-positive for the Windows Defender Antivirus.

False Positives for DRE

The reason why DRE gets these flags, I believe, is its nature of logging user-defined key-presses to send forward to the sim. A lot of viruses use keylogging for malicious purposes, and understandably it’s difficult for virus scanners to tell them apart.

To clear the DRE installer, do the following:

  1. Open Windows Update by searching for Updates in Windows Start Menu
  2. Click the Check for updates
  3. Windows will now download the latest Anti-virus info which should clear the DRE installer
  4. You can now try install DRE again
  5. If the app is still marked as a threat, delete the DRE installer, and download it again and retry
  6. Finally, try whitelisting DRE in Windows Defender: Approve the app in the protection history of windows defender

Disable Smart App Control

Smart App Control is a Windows 11 security feature that can block apps it does not yet trust, even when the app is safe. If DRE is being stopped by Smart App Control, turning it off can let the installer and app run normally.

Should I disable Smart App Control?

To disable it:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Privacy & security
  3. Open Windows Security
  4. Click App & browser control
  5. Open Smart App Control settings
  6. Select Off

If you cannot change the setting, see this video.

If you do not see Smart App Control on your PC, then it is either already off, not available on your Windows installation, or your device is not using that feature. In that case, continue with the antivirus definition update steps below.

Ensure you have the latest antivirus definitions

  1. Open Windows Defender in your applications list, or go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Defender > Open Windows Defender Security Center. Click on Virus & threat protection.
    1. Virus & Threat protection
  2. Click on Protection updates
    1. Protection updates
  3. Click Check for updates
    1. Check for antivirus updates

Usually clearing the DRE installer takes 4-8 hours from upload, and Microsoft usually quickly “flushes” the outdated anti-virus information on your machine, so if it doesn’t work immediately, try a restart or wait a day.

You have two options:

  1. Run DRE is Administrator Mode
  2. Avoid starting the iRacing UI from Sim Commander 4.
    1. Instead, manually start the iRacing UI using the desktop shortcut, or open it from the iRacing web membersite.
    2. When this is started, you can start SC4

iRacing uses OAuth for accessing its Data API.

If DRE speech recognition uses your CPU to transcribe speech to text, here are some common tips to resolve this and start utilizing your GPU:

  • Ensure you have the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (more info)
  • Ensure for CUDA inference to have either
    • the cudart64_12.dll file in DRE’s app data (check in %LocalAppData%/DRE)
    • installed a CUDA runtime between 12.1 – 12.9 (make sure to restart your PC)
  • Vulkan inference requires no custom installation, so consider switching to this:
      • In DRE, head to `Sound -> Recognition -> Preferred Neural Hardware Priority`
      • Change the order from CUDA, Vulkan, CPU -> Vulkan, CUDA, CPU to prefer Vulkan over CUDA

When listening to your team mates and DRE’s `Sound -> Busy Detection -> Scan Other App Volumes` is enabled for an app, like Discord, several things can play a part in terms of DRE missing out on the audio coming through.

Mute DRE on External Output Troubleshooting
  • Make sure the external application process name is spelled correctly (“Discord” in our example)
  • Lower the Volume Threshold to 0% (if subscription allows it), to see the current levels of the external app
  • In the external app, make sure its output volume level is set high. Otherwise the interpreted level will be minimal, too low for DRE to adjust its Volume Threshold for. For example, in Discord, go to Settings -> App Settings -> Voice & Video -> Output Volume slider should be set to 100%
  • Now adjust the Volume Threshold in DRE so speech or audio from the external app, is treated as such

Now when audio is produced from the external app, your should see the DRE output icon turning yellow. When hovering the output icon, when blocked by this Mute DRE on External Output feature, the text when will include “Output prevented by App Volume Activity: discord (23%)” at the top.

Mute DRE on External Output Troubleshooting Fixed

If you’re using the Neural Recognition, you may experience long delays before DRE responds back to you.

Here are a few tips to shorten the wait until DRE replies:

  1. If on Performance or Ultimate tiers, choose Cloud in Sound -> Recognition -> Neural Recognizer Provider
  2. Using the Local Neural Recognizer Provider
    1. Choose the Small model for faster transcription in Sound -> Recognition -> Preferred Neural Model
    2. Prioritize GPU hardware for transcriptions. Ensure “CUDA“, and “Vulkan” are before “CPU” in Sound -> Recognition -> Preferred Neural Hardware Priority
  3. Disable Neural Recognition, and rely solely on Classic Recognition by setting Sound -> Recognition -> Speech Engine to Classic

Read more about Which Speech Recognition mode has the least impact on my computer?

The fix is to turn up DRE relatively to the sim volume. This means turning down the sim and then turning up the overall volume.

  1. Start DRE
  2. Start a sim session, then alt+tab to the desktop.
  3. From here go to the system tray in the bottom right corner of the screen and find the speaker icon.
  4. Right-click the speaker icon, and then select the “Open Volume Mixer”.
  5. Slide down the volume of the sim (to eg. 25 – 40%)
  6. Make sure DRE volume is at 100%
  7. Turn up the overall gain/volume of your speakers. Do this either on the hardware turn knobs itself or left-clicking the Speaker icon in the system tray.

This DRE warning appears when it can’t save DRE speaks to its local cache:

There's not enough space on the disk to cache DRE speaks

You have 2 options to deal with this issue:

Clean up your drive

Delete unused files, apps on the drive that DRE uses for its local cache. Ideally you need 2GB or more of free space. The DRE warning will mention the drive that needs more space.

Use Windows’ Disk Cleanup to gain available space. Search for this tool in Windows Start and choose the drive to clean.

Move DRE cache folder

If you simply cannot make more space available on your drive, you can instead move the DRE cache folder to another drive. Here’s how:

  1. Open DRE
  2. Go to Settings
  3. On the General tab, look for the Folders section
  4. Click the Move Documents Folder Browse button
  5. Find another drive with sufficient space (open the This PC and locate another drive)
  6. Create a folder somewhere and call it “DRE Docs” or similar and hit OK
  7. DRE will now move the cache over to the other drive’s location
  8. Restart DRE for it to take full effect

If you see Windows 10 or 11 popping up with this error:

This application cannot run on your PC
To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher.

Try these tips

  1. In Windows start, search for Audio and Speech
  2. In Mixed Reality Audio and Speech settings, see the top area for Audio for Windows Mixed Reality
  3. Disable the Switch to headset audio when Mixed Reality Portal is running, in case you don’t want Mixed Reality Portal to hijack your audio output device

WMR Windows settings

Possibly, also disable the toggle below, see this FAQ

  1. In Windows start, search for Audio and Speech
  2. In Mixed Reality Audio and Speech settings, see the bottom section about Speech recognition
  3. Disable the Use speech recognition in Windows Mixed Reality…

WMR Windows settings

Possibly, also disable the toggles above, in case you don’t want Mixed Reality Portal to hijack your audio input and output devices, and if they differ from the selected ones in DRE under Audio -> Input / Output tabs. See more in this FAQ

DRE currently offers 3 main speech recognition modes to choose from in `Sound -> Recognition -> Speech Input Engine`:

  1. Classic: Local Windows Speech Recognition
    1. This uses existing voice command grammar to match up with your voice inputs.
  2. Neural Speech Recognition
    1. This uses neural models to process and transcribe your voice inputs.
    2. A custom AI, Thyrring, is then used to match your voice input intents to the available commands.
    3. This mode can be run locally using your GPU/CPU, or in the Cloud (Performance tier or higher).
  3. Hybrid
    1. This is a combination of Classic and Hybrid, yielding the best results.

Speech Input Engine options

Here’s the modes and sub-modes order of least to most impact on your computer:

  1. Classic with Microsoft Runtime
    • This uses a local, basic model with no ways of training it to your voice. This is the least precise option in terms of matching your speech to what you want.
  2. Classic with Windows Runtime
    • This uses a local model with ways of training it to your voice (Windows 10 only). This is slightly more precise because it adapts to your voice through specific training and every day use. If you started using DRE on Windows 11, you should use the Microsoft option.
  3. Neural with Cloud Provider
    • This uses a cloud transcription service to transcribe your voice inputs. Since it’s on cloud, your PC isn’t used for this. When processing the transcription to match it to any of the voice commands, there’s a small CPU impact, but mostly negligible
  4. Neural with Local Provider
    • This uses a local download model to transcribe your voice inputs. The `Sound -> Recognition -> Preferred Neural Model` option decide the impact
      • Small model: Yields good results. Good for older PCs.
      • Medium model: The best balanced model, yielding great results, but has a larger impact on your system.
      • Large model: The perfect model, but has the largest impact on your computer.
      • Usually Medium is the preferred option, but dropping to Small can work great with the Hybrid mode
    • Playing around with the order of `Sound -> Recognition -> Preferred Neural Hardware Priority` may help in your situation.
  5. Hybrid
    • Uses the Classic recognizer first to detect direct grammar matching before sending it off to transcription
    • This mode can be efficient on your system, as long as you keep the Neural provider to Cloud, or a Small/Medium local model

So what should I choose? Well it depends on your system. Got a beefy GPU? You can likely handle a Local Medium Neural model. Run in VR though? You’re better off with a Small model or subscribing to Performance to unlock the Cloud option.

That message usually means one of these is true:

  • The command is outside DRE’s supported simulator quick pit subset.
  • The simulator ‘s pit menu is not configured for keyboard/D-pad control.
  • You are not in a supported live simulator session.
  • The simulator is paused, disconnected, replaying, finished, or otherwise not in a safe state for menu automation.

The below can assist you getting DRE set up with Assetto Corsa (AC)

AC Troubleshooting checklist

Before reporting a problem, check:

  1. Can you manually open and control AC’s quick pit menu with the keyboard arrows or D-pad?
  2. Is USE_MOUSE_PITSTOP=0 set in system/cfg/pitstop.ini?
  3. Are you in a live Practice, Qualifying, or Race session?
  4. Is AC unpaused and connected?
  5. Does a simple fuel command work before trying tyre or pressure commands?
  6. If a tyre compound command fails, try the exact compound wording shown by AC for the current car.

Important limitation

DRE’s AC pit commands work by deterministic quick pit menu navigation. DRE does not claim authoritative AC pit-service telemetry or pit countdown state, and it cannot guarantee support for third-party pit-menu mods.

You may see a popup in Windows like this:

Windows speech recognition is deprecated and is no longer being developed.
This feature is being replaced with voice access.

So is DRE affected by this switch from Windows Speech Recognition to Voice Access?

Short answer is no.

Only the Windows Speech Recognition application will be replaced by Voice Access. The internal Speech Recognition APIs that DRE utilizes for its Classic Recognizer will remain.

DRE still supports Classic, but Windows runtime may be missing/degraded on newer Win11; use Microsoft runtime or Neural/Hybrid.

You get paid monthly (30-day delay + beginning of the next month) from your commissions (minimum $50), and you get a cut even from renewals as long as the customer is an active subscriber.

Receive referral commissions for every customer you refer. There is no maximum number of customers you can refer. And, you’ll receive commissions for renewals.

40% commission on the initial order and 30% on subsequent renewal orders.

Example:

A referred user subscribes to the monthly Performance tier.

Initial order: $7.99 * 40% = $3.2 commission.

Renewal orders: $7.99 * 30% = $2.4 commission for every renewal

Sign up to DRE Affiliates

Once approved you can start earning on your referrals straight away.

There are no minimum requirements regarding the number of referrals for your commissions to be transferred to you.

However, there’s a minimum commission of $50 before you are paid.

To start earning money by referring users to DRE you must do the following:

  1. Be an active sim-racer. Use DRE to showcase its features.
  2. Make sure you have an active and verified PayPal account to be able to receive monthly commissions
  3. The country of your PayPal account must be located in countries outside: Brazil
  4. Be ready to share your passion for DRE
  5. Sign up to the Affiliate Program

The minimum commission is $50 before you are paid.

After every payout, you must earn at least $50 again before you are paid.

The commissions accumulated are counted after 30 days after the sale to ensure refunded orders are not included.

The initial free trial order of $0 is the one giving the higher initial order commission rate.

The first actual payment order after 10 days is considered a recurring order.

This is due to the 10-day free trial on annual subscription products and a current limitation on the affiliate software in use.

The affiliate software developers are aware of this limitation and may implement a fix for this later.

Simulators

If DRE detects Le Mans Ultimate (LMU) as running but does not connect or receive session data, do the following:

  1. Start LMU
  2. Open General Settings in LMU
  3. Scroll to the bottom
  4. Make sure Enable Plugins is set to ON.
  5. Fully restart LMU and join the track.

DRE uses a LMU plugin to receive live session data, so it cannot connect while LMU plugins are disabled.

When restarting DRE while in ACC, DRE takes a long time before connecting after restart.

The workaround is to pause the sim so it shows the in-car pause menu, before restarting DRE.

If you missed this step, you can either wait a few minutes, or restart the simulator session, by going back to the main menu.

If nothing happens for a while, try exiting out to ACC main menu and then start the session again.

Basic features shared with iRacing work. Advanced features like class leader RPM, offtracks, and telemetry snapshots unavailable. See the full details here

To connect DRE with a racing simulator, make sure the simulator is supported by DRE and is enabled.

To enable the simulator connection, go to `Settings -> Sim Connection -> Racing Simulators` and check on the simulator from the dropdown box

Two ways:

  • Rerun Get Started Wizard: Settings -> General -> Start Wizard
  • Directly by enabling ACC from the dropdown in: Settings -> Sim Connection -> Racing Simulators

You will need to enable Broadcasting as well. You need to edit your broadcasting.json file in the ACC config folder. At minimum, you must set the updListenerPort value. The broadcasting.json file is located in: Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Config\.

You can use these settings that mirror the test client’s default values:

{
"updListenerPort": 9000,
"connectionPassword": "asd",
"commandPassword": ""
}

Make sure to restart both ACC and DRE after these changes.

If this doesn’t enable ACC, check out this FAQ

Short answer

DRE can control a supported subset of Assetto Corsa pit options by automating AC’s built-in quick pit menu. This is not a direct Assetto Corsa pit-service API integration, so setup and command support are more limited than in sims with richer pit APIs.

Required Assetto Corsa setup

DRE sends the same quick pit menu inputs you would send with keyboard arrows or a wheel D-pad. First make sure AC’s built-in quick pit menu works manually.

  1. Open your Assetto Corsa install folder.
  2. Open system/cfg/pitstop.ini.
  3. Set:
USE_MOUSE_PITSTOP=0
  1. Start a Practice, Qualifying, or Race session.
  2. Confirm AC’s quick pit menu responds to arrow keys or your D-pad before testing DRE voice commands.

Optional settings sometimes help with visibility, but should be treated as troubleshooting options rather than hard requirements:

AUTO_APP_ON_PITLANE=1
VISIBILITY_MAX_TIME=5

What DRE supports in Assetto Corsa

Supported AC quick pit commands currently include:

  • Fuel changes: set/add/remove/max fuel where DRE can map the command to AC’s quick pit fuel row.
  • No fuel / clear fuel.
  • Change all tyres.
  • Clear tyre changes.
  • Change tyre compound, using the current car’s AC tyre data where available.
  • Adjust tyre pressures by relative clicks, including all tyres or individual front/rear/left/right/corner combinations.

Example commands:

  • “Add 10 liters of fuel”
  • “No fuel”
  • “Change all tires”
  • “Set tires to slick medium”
  • “Change tire pressures up 3 clicks”
  • “Change rear tire pressures down 2 clicks”

What DRE does not support in Assetto Corsa

Some DRE pit commands are not supported for AC because stock AC does not expose a deterministic quick pit action for them, or because DRE has not verified a safe stock-AC flow.

Currently unsupported for AC:

  • Full service / no service composed flows.
  • Clear all pit services in one command.
  • Fast repair.
  • Tear-off / windscreen / windshield cleaning.
  • Partial tyre changes such as only front-left tyre change, unless the command is a tyre pressure adjustment.

If you use mods that add extra pit menu features, DRE does not currently support those mod-specific options.

Depending on the simulator you race with, there are different ways DRE and the simulator handle fueling.

  • Le Mans Ultimate (LMU) is strategy-based – or, how much fuel to carry
  • iRacing and ACC are additive-based – or, how much fuel is added

As an example with commanding DRE to “set fuel to 70 liters”:
LMU: Sets the Fuel or Virtual Energy + Fuel Ratio so you will leave the pits with 70 liters carried
iRacing, ACC: Adds fuel to the car, so it adds 70 liters on top of what is already there

Here’s the mapping between iRacing and DRE track wetness states:

Track Wetness State Comparison
DRE StateiRacing State
UnknownUNKNOWN
DryDry
SlightlyDampMostlyDry
DampVeryLightlyWet
SlightlyWetLightlyWet
WetModeratelyWet
VeryWetVeryWet
FloodedExtremelyWet

DRE’s naming system improves on iRacing by:

  • Using fewer terms with “wet” in the name
  • Creating more clearly distinct categories
  • If possible, set Connection Type to DSL, Cable, Fiber 1 Mbit/sec or faster. This may influence the data transmitted between cars and therefore the precision of The DRE.
  • Units are automatically changed to the units used in iRacing
  • DRE does not work fully during ghost races and spectator modes.

Core racing features work. See feature comparison table in docs for specifics.

DRE supports the following racing simulators:

  • iRacing
  • ACC
  • LMU

No. ACC support limited to features shared with iRacing due to simulator limitations.

Team

Spotters get access if:

  • It’s a team session
  • They’ve joined the car
  • They use DRE Free or higher
  • The driver uses DRE Essentials or higher

Currently, spotting for a single driver and spectating a regular racing event (non-team) is not supported

No configuration needed if:

  1. You’re in the same team in the sim
  2. Driver has Essentials+ subscription
  3. Team members have any DRE subscription

You don’t need to be the active spotter when spectating another team member driving. It doesn’t matter, as DRE uses data regardless of the “Spot” status.

  • Driver using DRE Essentials or higher: Can send data
  • All team members: Can receive data
  • Data shared: Fuel levels, tire wear, oil/water temperatures
  • Updates: Every 2 seconds for Performance+ subscribers

Yes, DRE automatically:

  • Adapts to each driver’s fuel usage
  • Recalculates when drivers swap
  • Uses running average and highly accurate formulas
  • Updates calculations based on active driver

Team members can see data when:

  1. They’re officially joined to the team car in the sim
  2. Using any DRE subscription (including Free)
  3. The active driver has DRE Essentials or higher

Output FAQ

Sound, Signals, DRE speaking to you

Sound

Without your team mates hearing you, you can command and ask DRE. Similarly, you can chat with your Discord mates without DRE hears you. Here’s how:

Using Push-To-Talk to speak

This is the easiest setup by having separate Push To Talk (PTT) buttons for DRE and Discord:

  1. In DRE, locate Controls from the side menu
  2. Click the DRE tab at the top
  3. Locate the Push To Talk (Hold) and bind it
  4. Likewise in Discord, head to the Settings
  5. Locate Voice & Video from the Settings side menu
  6. In Input Mode, choose Push To Talk and assign a shortcut below

Now you have two separate buttons for PTT for DRE and Discord.

Discord Push To Mute

Using Voice Activated mode

If you want to keep an open mic (a.ka. Voice Activated mode) in DRE or Discord and use a button to talk in the other, it requires slightly more work, but here’s how:

Voice Activated DRE

To always have DRE listening to you, you have to enable `DRE -> Sound -> Input -> Input Mode -> Voice Activated`. With this enabled, to speak in Discord without DRE hearing it, you must set a PTT in Discord, and deafen DRE while speaking in Discord:

  1. In DRE, locate Controls from the side menu
  2. Click the DRE tab at the top
  3. Locate the Push To Mute (Hold)
  4. Bind the button or key here in DRE to the same button you use to PTT in Discord
  5. This deafens DRE and pauses its Voice Activation momentarily, while you PTT in Discord

Push To Mute

Voice Activated Discord

While Discord does not have an option to Push To Deafen as a hold button, you can either use its Toggle Deafen keybind by itself, or extend it and use a third party software to turn a hold button action into two separate toggle pushes for Toggle Deafen. This is outside the scope of this FAQ, but guides may be found online.

Discord Toggle Deafen

If you find yourself not liking the current neural speaker voice, or want to switch from a local Text-To-Speech engine, here’s how to change the current DRE voices:

  1. In DRE, open the side-menu
  2. Go to Sound
  3. Now locate the Output tab
  4. Scroll down to Voice
  5. Choose the Speech Synthesis
    1. Neural: These are natural voices generated via cloud neural networks
    2. Local: Text-To-Speech (TTS) engine installed on your PC. These are usually more robotic sounding, but some are quite decent
  6. Select the Neural Voice or Local Voice option. You will hear examples of the voices chosen

If you don’t want DRE’s engineering alerts running, you can allow only the spotter features by disabling all engineer-related alerts.

  1. In DRE, go to Sound
  2. Head to the Output tab
  3. Locate Output Alert Types
  4. Change to Spotter Only

If you don’t want DRE’s spotter capabilities running, you can allow only the engineering features by disabling all spotter-related alerts.

You have two options

Toggle all spotting

  1. In DRE, go to Sound
  2. Head to the Output tab
  3. Locate Output Alert Types
  4. Change to Engineer Only

Granular disabling of spotter alerts

Disable the following alert settings as you see fit. The following is not an exhaustive list of spotter alerts, but cover most of them, and will change over time, as more spotter alerts are introduced:

  • Car -> Proximity: All
  • Car -> Overtake -> Overtaking (verbal)
  • Pit -> Pit Stall -> Player Car in Pit Stall, Pit Service Status, Pit Stop Complete
  • Pit -> Pit Lane -> Pit Count Down, Pit Speed Limiter, Pit Speeding (Alert)
  • Session -> Events -> Flags

If you want to have one voice for general race engineering but another for spotting, upgrade your subscription to Essentials, then:

  1. In DRE, open the side-menu
  2. Go to Sound
  3. Now locate the Output tab
  4. Scroll down to Voice
  5. Enable the Spotter Override option
  6. Choose the Spotter Override Synthesis type:
    1. Neural: These are natural voices generated via cloud neural networks
    2. Local: Text-To-Speech (TTS) engine installed on your PC. These are usually more robotic sounding, but some are quite decent
  7. Select the Spotter Neural Voice or Spotter Local Voice option. You will hear examples of the voices chosen

Input FAQ

Questions about controllers, voice and sound input

Commands

Custom phrases for existing commands

If you want to speak to DRE to trigger an existing command but use your own style of phrasing, here’s how. We’ll use an example of extending the command for getting the last lap time for the car ahead as a delta to our own, so Delta last lap time ahead can be spoken by Delta ahead:

How to add custom commands - look up existing phrases
  1. Head to DRE -> Commands
  2. Switch to the General tab
  3. Search for the command you want to add custom speech for
  4. Note the existing grammar phrases
  5. Switch to the Custom tab
  6. Add the following:
    1. App: DRE
    2. Description: Shortcut for ‘Delta last lap time ahead’
    3. Voice Grammar: Delta ahead
    4. Keybind / Phrase: Ahead delta last lap
  7. Hit the plus button to add this custom grammar to the existing command
  8. Add custom command fill out
  9. A warning appears that the command is currently not found. Fret not! This will be enabled when you enter a sim session
  10. Custom command add warning

Custom command success

Trigger multiple commands

Single custom commands allow you to trigger multiple commands in one go.
For example, the custom phrase `Fuel laps left status` can trigger 2 commands: `Fuel laps left now` and `Fuel laps left at start`.

Delimit the commands with semicolons `;`

Ms8LvvW

Bind custom commands

It’s possible to bind custom commands to trigger them from a button.
This allows you to speak a custom command like `Fuel laps left status` or trigger it using a keyboard or buttons.

Send keyboard shortcuts from a custom command

Custom commands can also trigger keyboard shortcuts.

Use:

  • Press keys <key-combo>
  • Press keys <key-combo> to <process>

Examples:

  • Press keys NumPad4
  • Press keys Ctrl+Shift+K to obs64

Use the exact canonical key names for each key in the shortcut.

The optional to <process> part is a safety check, not app targeting. DRE checks that the process is running before sending the shortcut, but it does not focus that app or send true background input to it. DRE keeps the simulator in focus, so the target app must listen for global shortcuts.

Process names are exact but case-insensitive, and .exe is optional. For example, OBS may need obs64.

If the key combo is invalid, the process is not running, or DRE and the target app are running at different admin/elevation levels, DRE will warn and will not send the keys. Successful sends are silent.

Add new commands

At the current time, it is not possible to add your own commands using the DRE app. You have a couple of options:

  • Suggest the command and its logic on the DRE Discord
  • Extend your DRE with new commands using DRE Lynx

Choose one of the options:

  • Set Performance -> Lap -> Types to just the Last lap time and nothing else, as well as Performance -> Lap -> New Lap Probability to 100%,
  • Add last lap time as a command to Performance -> Lap -> New Lap Commands
  • Ask DRE last lap time when it suits you

Set up keyboard and controller triggers

How to use buttons with DRE (2024.1 Tutorial)

The video shows an older controls setup. Follow the guide below instead of its instructions to match DRE and simulator keys.

Open Controls from DRE’s left side-menu to edit keyboard shortcuts and controller buttons. DRE-only controls, such as Push To Talk, remain editable here.

DRE triggers and simulator bindings are separate. For supported simulator actions, DRE uses the simulator’s saved controls or controls the action directly through the simulator. You do not need to copy simulator keybinds into DRE or make the two match.

Controls

With your simulator connected, open Controls → Sim. The columns separate the inputs that trigger DRE from the simulator binding used for the action:

  1. Function: The action to perform.
  2. DRE trigger: The keyboard shortcut that starts the action in DRE.
  3. Controller: An optional controller button that starts the action in DRE.
  4. Simulator binding column: The read-only binding on the right. Its header names the connected simulator. Only iRacing shows the smaller Profile: name label underneath.

Edit the keyboard and controller inputs you want to use in DRE. Change the simulator’s own assignment in its controls settings, not in DRE’s read-only simulator binding column.

For supported iRacing actions, you can leave the DRE keyboard trigger empty when using a controller button. Other simulator actions may still require a DRE keyboard trigger; it does not need to match the simulator binding.

Actions sent as keypresses need a supported keyboard assignment in the simulator. Actions DRE controls directly through the simulator do not need a keyboard output assignment. A controller button used to trigger DRE does not replace a required simulator keyboard assignment.

As an iRacing example, give Headlight Flash a supported keyboard assignment in iRacing and save it. DRE reads that output. Your optional DRE trigger can be a different keyboard shortcut or a controller button.

iRacing example: Report Latency uses separate DRE triggers and keyboard output L from the saved XBox profile.

Tabs

Here’s what you can find in each of the 3 tabs on the Controls page.

Controls tabs

DRE

These binds trigger actions mainly in DRE. Keyboard and controller triggers remain editable and independent. Global DRE controls, including Push To Talk, remain global.

Sim

These binds trigger actions in the racing simulators only.

For supported actions, DRE uses the simulator binding or controls the action directly through the simulator. You do not need to mirror its key in the DRE trigger field.

Built-in simulator physical keyboard shortcuts only execute while the simulator is the foreground window. Global DRE controls and custom Command Binds remain global. Voice and controller routes keep their existing focus behavior.

For directly forwarded iRacing keyboard actions, DRE does not resend the physical shortcut if it already matches the simulator output.

Choose and save your iRacing controls profile

The screenshots below show iRacing as a setup example. This named-profile selection and saving process is specific to iRacing.

  1. In iRacing, open Settings → Keybinds and choose the intended Control Profile at the bottom left.
  2. For actions DRE sends as keypresses, give them supported keyboard assignments in iRacing.
  3. Use Save in the menu beside the profile, or Apply & Close.
  4. With DRE connected, check Controls → Sim. Confirm the Profile: name label and the iRacing Binding values.

iRacing Keybinds settings with the Control Profile selector open and XBox selected.

Choose the intended Control Profile, save it, then check the profile label in DRE.

When connecting, DRE first uses the car-specific default profile, then falls back to the Global profile selection recorded in iRacing’s app.ini. The profile menu lets you choose Set as Default or Set as Default for this Car.

iRacing Keybinds profile menu showing Save, Set as Default and Set as Default for this Car.

Use the menu beside Control Profile to save the profile or choose a default.

While connected, DRE follows the latest saved controls file it detects and reloads bindings when profile or current-control saves occur. Simply selecting a profile without saving is not a guaranteed update. After changing profiles or bindings, save in iRacing and check DRE’s profile label. DRE follows saved files, so the label is not a guaranteed live view of an unsaved selection.

If an iRacing binding is unavailable

  • Unassigned: Give the action a supported keyboard assignment in iRacing and save it.
  • Controller only: The iRacing action is assigned only to a controller. Give it a supported keyboard assignment so DRE can send it. Your DRE trigger may still be controller-only.
  • Unsupported: DRE cannot send this assignment. Not every keyboard key is supported; comma is currently unsupported. Choose a supported assignment in iRacing and save again.
  • Error: DRE could not read or resolve the binding. Follow the explanation in DRE, save the intended profile again and check the profile label.

DRE sends no guessed replacement key for these states. Profile reading supports the currently tested iRacing controls-profile format; it does not promise compatibility with every past or future format.

Command Binds

These binds trigger DRE commands.

  1. To create a new command bind, go to `Commands` view from the side-menu
  2. Find the command you want to bind and right-click -> Bind
  3. Map the first bind to this command
  4. Confirm the bind
  5. The view changes to `Controls -> Command Binds`
  6. Here you can edit the command phrase by clicking in the `Command` field, edit the binds, or delete the command binding

Controls Command Binds

Multiple Command Binds for the same command

It’s possible to bind multiple binds to the same command, in order to trigger a special condition for this command. For example, you can bind to the command that changes tires in the pitstop:

Control | Car | Pit

Change [all;front;rear;left;right] tires;Change [front left;front right;rear left;rear right] tire

Changes the tires without pressure adjustments. Change either all, fronts, rears, lefts, rights, or individual tires

By default, this binds to the first text variation, “change all tires “. But what if you wanted a button press to change all tires and another button to take only right-side tires?

CommandBinds Change right tires

You can rename the newly created Command Bind command phrase, change all tires to change right tires. Or you can:

  1. Go back to Commands and find the command again
  2. Click the “+” button to see all phrase variations
  3. Right-click the variation you want, like Change right tires and hit Bind
  4. You can now bind to that exact phrase which will trigger changing right-side tires

Tags

  • It’s important that command phrases are human-speakable. This means any tags or square/curly braces must be resolved to actual values/words
  • When using dynamic values like positions (eg. P1), names, or numbers, their respective dynamic grammar should be enabled in Sound -> Recognition -> Dynamic Grammar
  • More info on tags and dynamic values – see ‘The {DRIVER} tag’
  • Example: Camera focus on <Driver> should be resolved to Camera focus on car behind for DRE to know exactly what and who to take action on

Execute multiple commands

  • To trigger multiple commands in succession with one push of a button, you simply have to delimit the spoken command phrases using a semicolon `;`
  • Example: Do tear off;Change all tires

Repeat commands

  • To repeat a command multiple times with one push of a button, you simply have to add an asterisk followed by an integer like `*12`
  • When using the repeater option, DRE will only speak the initial execution and not the repeats
  • Example: increase fuel mix*12

*N works only in the editable Command field under Controls → Command Binds. It cannot be added to mappings under Controls → Sim.

Create the bind through Commands → right-click the command → Bind. Then open Controls → Command Binds and append the multiplier:

  • Increase right spring*5
  • Decrease right spring*5

For separate ±1 and ±5 buttons, leave the normal buttons mapped under Controls → Sim. Remove the fast buttons from those Sim mappings and assign them only to the *5 Command Binds. Otherwise, the direct Sim mapping may also execute.

*5 means five executions total from one button press.

Some DRE voice commands have dynamic tags that should be swapped with a specific driver detail when spoken.

{DRIVER} is a dynamic tag in DRE command phrases that lets you target yourself or another driver.

A command sentence like “Start delta for {DRIVER}” can be replaced by:

  • Name / First name / Last name
    • Example: “Start delta for Verstappen”
  • Current Position (eg. P 14, position 14) / Current Class Position (eg. P 14 in class, class position 14)
    • Example: “Start delta for position 2”
  • Car number
    • Example: “Start delta for car 33”
  • Car ahead/in front/behind (for position)
    • Example: “Start delta for the car in front”
  • Car ahead/in front/behind on track
    • Example: “Start delta for behind on track”
  • Class/Overall leader
    • Example: “Start delta for the leader”
  • Contextual when following up (he, she, they)
    • Example: “Start delta for him”

Check out this extensive list of available commands in DRE

  • Intents in DRE are triggers for logic and actions.
  • Commands are the precise grammar used to trigger intents.

Speech Engine options

Select between three options in Sound -> Recognition -> Speech Engine:

  • Using Classic recognizer settings in DRE, you can speak specific voice commands like “Hello DRE”, to trigger intents like Greet.
  • Neural recognizer settings allows you to more freely speak to DRE in your own style. Here, DRE attempts understandings your intention behind your words to find intents to trigger the logic.
  • Choosing the Hybrid recognizer setting gives you the best of both worlds: Fast recognition for common intents, with broad catch-net for anything else.

To sum it up: With Neural recognition, you don’t have to speak in a certain way to trigger intents, like you need with Classic recognition that uses specific voice commands to trigger intents.

See all Admin commands for iRacing here

Controls

Note: A binding or mapping assigns an input to an action.

Voice Recognition

You need to say your sentence immediately after the command. So if you want to write “sorry” in the chat, you need to say “Start writing sorry”, without any pauses.

This goes for all your unrecognized commands.

Since DRE cannot compare your sentence with any existing command it already knows, it relies on Microsoft Speech Recognition services which is less than optimal. This may be why it often misinterprets your input for these types of commands.

It’s recommended to add your own commands in case you often write certain sentences.

See the Speech Recognition Guide on how to make DRE understand you and execute your commands

Using Oculus Rift, you can turn off Automatic Gain Control (AGC) as an attempt to better give commands. The microphone in the Oculus Rift CV1 is quite sensitive and letting software constantly change gain on the input is not always ideal. To turn off AGC, search for “Sound” in Windows Start -> Run. Open the Sound settings and switch to the “Recording” tab. Open the “Microphone Rift Audio” settings, here in the “Custom” tab you can turn off AGC. Even though you can’t press Apply, pressing OK stores this setting.

To correct an existing translation in DRE, there are a couple of ways to do this currently

Note! The steps below are only available on Windows 10, or Windows 11 versions earlier than 24H2

If you have Windows 11 24H2 or later, you should switch `Sound -> Recognition -> Classic Runtime` to Microsoft

You can train your computer to better understand you using the local speech recognizer built into Windows

  1. Open Windows Start
  2. Type Speech Recognition
  3. Click the first result
  4. Speech recognition in Windows
  5. Click on Train your computer to better understand you.
  6. Follow the guide and speak into your microphone.

This will make the recognizer know how you sound and will be able to better distinguish your voice from noise from eg. steering wheel or other people nearby.

Do this training at least twice! Also over time, the recognition gets better as it learns as you talk to it.

For slightly faster inference (Neural speech recognition and processing), NVIDIA GPU owners can utilize the CUDA toolkit.

DRE automatically downloads and installs the required runtime library for using CUDA. Should this not work as intended, here’s how to install CUDA yourself:

If you have an NVIDIA GPU, you may download and install CUDA 13.0.2, to decrease the time from speech to command a bit:

CUDA install options

During installation, choosing Custom (Advanced) installation and selecting only the CUDA -> Runtime components should be sufficient.

Note! DRE uses Vulkan runtime by default which supports both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, meaning you do not have to switch to CUDA.

To speak to DRE in languages other than English:

  1. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the Windows Speech Recognizer for the language you want
  2. Start DRE and head to `Settings -> General -> App -> Language` and choose your language
  3. The app automatically restarts to load the localized grammar phrases
  4. You can now say “Gutentag, DRE” or “Boun Giorno, DRE”. DRE will also speak back in the selected language.

Please see this Microsoft article on how to install speech recognizers.

If you see this log entry, you haven’t installed a Windows speech recognizer for your current selected language in DRE.

For instance, you could have chosen German in DRE as the language but have no German speech recognizer installed.

This may be okay if your installed English recognizer still recognizes your german speech.

Still, you should check if you are able to install a specific German speech recognizer to improve speech recognition.

Please see this Microsoft article on how to install speech recognizers

The error message contains:

Too many grammars have been loaded. Number of grammars cannot exceed 1024

This is a limitation of Windows in terms of how many simultaneous voice grammars can exist. DRE spawns many grammars at load and even more as you join a session, and new drivers join.

This issue may be fixed down the line, as speech recognition partly moves towards cloud-based recognition

To fix this issue now, please do one of the following:

Method 1: Change to a single recognizer

  1. Locate the DRE Documents either by saying Open DRE Documents to DRE, or by finding it usually in C:\Documents\USER\DRE
  2. Exit DRE and make sure it is closed
  3. Open Config.json
  4. Edit the value of SpeechRecognizers (Ctrl+F to find it) from Multiple to Single
  5. Save the JSON file and re-open DRE

Method 2: Using Multiple Recognizers

  1. Open DRE
  2. Go to Sounds -> Recognition
  3. Disable one or more:
    1. Use Position Recognition
    2. Use Name Recognition
    3. Use Number Recognition

This will disable the grammar types like ‘Where’s Verstappen’, ‘Where’s car 33’, ‘Where is P2’, but reduces the number of voice grammars.

DRE keeps expanding to support more and more languages.

Current the following languages are supported:

  • English
  • German
  • Italian
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Turkish

See this FAQ on how to use another language for DRE

Password reset

DRE Credentials

User security is a top priority. To ensure that your information remains confidential, DRE uses Auth0—a leading identity management platform trusted by companies worldwide—to manage user authentication.

Auth0 is a robust authentication and authorization platform that offers a variety of features including Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and social login capabilities. It is compliant with the latest security protocols, providing a secure and streamlined experience for our users.

Account social logins, or emails + passwords entered into DRE are safely stored at Auth0. They are encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms during transmission and storage.

Only authorized personnel have access to your account information, and even then, they do not have access to your passwords, thanks to Auth0’s secure handling of sensitive information.

How does DRE handle iRacing authentication and credentials?

DRE doesn’t store your password on its servers.

Auth0, a leading identity management platform trusted by companies worldwide, handles all user credential storage using state-of-the-art security mechanisms, including encryption and secure transmission protocols.

Only authorized personnel have access to your account information, and even then, they do not have access to your passwords, thanks to Auth0’s secure handling of sensitive information.

iRacing credentials entered into DRE are stored offline on your PC only.

You likely created multiple DRE accounts by accident.

Cancelling

Totally! There’s no commitment: You can cancel the active subscription in your account

You can cancel your subscription at any time, but I cannot issue refunds for partial use of service or the amount of time left in your subscription.

You may cancel your active subscription, to which the status will change to pending cancellation.

During Trial periods, canceling a subscription will immediately cancel the subscription.

  1. Head to your account
  2. In the left menu, select Subscriptions
  3. Click View on your active subscription
  4. In the Actions area, click Cancel

The subscription will be pending cancellation (still active) until the end of the subscription period, which you paid for.

If you cancel a trial, the subscription status will change to “pending cancellation” (still active) until the end of the trial period and then cancel.

It’s easy! Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your My Account page.

  2. Navigate to the “Subscriptions” section.

  3. Find the subscription you wish to pause and click the “Suspend” button.

Your subscription status will immediately change to “On Hold,” and you’ll receive an email confirmation.

To resume your subscription after suspending it (On Hold), simply:

  1. Log in to your My Account page.

  2. Go to the “Subscriptions” section.

Your access and benefits will be restored, and your payment schedule will resume.

You can cancel the active subscription in your account. The subscription will be pending cancellation (still active) until the end of the subscription period, which you paid for.

Cancel subscription

Suspending and putting a subscription “On Hold” is a way to temporarily pause it. This action stops all future automatic payments and suspends your access to subscription benefits like DRE app features until you choose to resume.

  • Suspend (On Hold) is a temporary pause. You can easily reactivate it later from your account. Your existing subscription remains, is frozen until your reactivate it. It continues from where you left it, leaving you with the remaining days you had before suspending it.

  • Cancel is a permanent stop. Once a subscription is canceled, it is terminated and cannot be reactivated. You would need to purchase a new subscription through the checkout process if you wanted to sign up again.

Putting your subscription on hold is ideal for taking a temporary break. The main benefit is convenience—you don’t have to sign up all over again when you’re ready to come back. All your details are saved, and you can reactivate with a single click. It’s perfect for vacations or if you just need to skip a few cycles.
