🔄 Neural Recognition

  • Removed forcing VR users to Neural Cloud Recognition.
  • This change allows VR users to use local models for speech recognition.
  • This was previously in place for Free and Essentials tiers who ran sims in VR and needed everything from their GPUs, but it is no longer required since the shift in v2025.1.6’s to Free for all for the Neural Recognizer Provider.

🔄 Wizard

  • Hid Calibrate Speech Recognition step in the wizard when using Speech Engine: Neural, because it has no effect on the Neural engine.

🔄 Lap Time Smoothing Updates

  • Adjusted how DRE smooths your lap times used for fuel calculations. It now reacts quicker when you set a faster lap and is more cautious when a lap is slower than your trend.
  • Why: To make pace improvements show up sooner while avoiding overreacting to traffic, mistakes, or brief slowdowns.

🔄 Laps Left calculation

  • DRE will no longer drop your “Laps Left” suddenly when the race leader is pitting or crossing the start/finish line. In these brief moments, the number can be unstable, so DRE holds the lap count steady.
  • DRE also keeps a short “check” period when big changes are detected, ensuring the new value is consistent before showing it.
  • Result: A steadier and more trustworthy Laps Left number, especially during leader pit stops and start/finish crossings.

✅ Text Chat in iRacing

  • The new Sim UI introduced a couple of bugs related to clearing the text chat after sending.
  • For iRacing, the chat clearing issue has been resolved by forcing a clear text after sending the text message.
  • The Clear Chat function now also first (re)focuses the text chat before clearing it.

✅ Minimize on app startup

  • Fixed an issue where DRE didn’t always start minimized even when set to run on startup or when “Start minimized” was enabled. It will now reliably launch in the background as expected.
  • Fixed an issue with a warning popping up about app elevation required when DRE is in fact not running in admin mode.

✅ Azure TTS

  • Fixed intermittent authentication failure to improve connection with cloud Neural Voice generation

✅ Track State commands used a missing variable for the track state percentage

✅ Controllers

  • Fixed: In ACC and LMU, DRE would verbally warn when no keyboard bind was set, and you pressed a controller button already mapped in DRE controls.
