⭐ Class Focus

Added an option to focus DRE on your class more and imply class orientations in your voice inputs and speech outputs.
This affects which commands are available, how DRE interprets commands, and how it speaks.
For example, when set to the narrowest, Class Only, DRE will only accept driver names within your class, and imply class position in your voice inputs and speech outputs.

Added setting ‘Opponent Class Focus’

  • Adjust in Sound -> Recognition -> Opponent Class Focus
  • Affects how DRE interprets your voice commands for opponents around.
  • The default setting, Class-Focused, allows you to be specific when needed but implies class focus when you are inspecific.
  • The table below shows how DRE treats your various inputs for asking about other drivers ahead and behind you.
  • Defaulting to Class-Focused, where when asking ‘Who’s ahead of me?’, DRE will interpret this as who’s ahead of you in your class. You can specify the exact type by including the terms ‘… in class’ for class positions only, or ‘overall’ for overall positions.
  • When this setting is set to Class Only, it will always choose class positions, and you cannot specify class/overall anymore.
    • This setting is in place for those that never ask about non-class drivers, and like to save up some precious RAM usage, as DRE won’t load grammar for non-class drivers.

For position queries:

  • Who’s ahead of me?

    • Class Only: Class Pos ✅
    • Class Focused: Class Pos ✅
    • All: Overall Pos ✅
  • Who’s ahead of me in class?

    • Class Only: Not available ❌
    • Class Focused: Class Pos ✅
    • All: Class Pos ✅
  • Who’s ahead of me overall?

    • Class Only: Not available ❌
    • Class Focused: Overall Pos ✅
    • All: Overall Pos ✅
  • Who’s the leader?

    • Class Only: Class Leader ✅
    • Class Focused: Class Leader ✅
    • All: Overall Leader ✅

This setting also affects which drivers you can ask about. If you want to focus solely on class drivers, consider switching to the Class Only setting, as this won’t load grammar for non-class drivers:

For specific driver queries:

  • Where is Palmer? (class driver)

    • Class Only: ✅
    • Class Focused: ✅
    • All: ✅
  • Where is Ye? (non-class driver)

    • Class Only: Not available ❌
    • Class Focused: ✅
    • All: ✅

Be aware for Class Only setting, that Neural Speech Recognition may still find non-class drivers, while Class recognizers have no idea who non-class drivers are.

Choose the All setting to keep things how they were prior to 2025.1.0.20, thus loading all grammar, and requires you to be more specific.
Changing this setting will restart DRE.

⭐ New command: Restart DRE

  • Has DRE gone haywire? Or do you just need a clean slate?
  • This command will restart DRE, and will also clear all settings and cached data.
  • Command it like:
    • Restart DRE now
    • Force restart DRE

✅ DRE did not re-adjust auto-fuel once inside the pit lane

  • DRE is now allowed to re-adjust during pit lane, ONLY IF the laps left is larger than its last check, so more fuel is required.
  • When auto-fuel has previously kicked in some time during the ending stint, DRE will now re-check every 2 seconds while in pit lane in, until your pit stall.

✅ App restarts didn’t always happen

  • This is an attempt to fix this while allowing only 1 DRE instance to run at a time
  • Welcome alerts didn’t always catch the track city, country, name, etc. before being queued for speech

✅ Second and subsequent sim reconnects

  • Small flag prevented DRE from restarting the iRacing memory connection

✅ Cloud Neural Speech Recognition could not start

  • Badly formatted token was used for Cloud recognition
  • This occurred before any TTS generation was attempted, basically: If Cloud rec was used before DRE generated any TTS (non-cached), then it would fail.
  • This has now been fixed
